Oh Baby!

So, here we are once again... on bed rest and trying to find things to pass my time. I can definitely think of better things to do with time off work than sit on my booty watching reruns of reality tv that I've already seen 5 billion times, but the reason I do it is to keep our sweet angel safe and secure inside the tummy!

It started again Saturday night, before we went to bed I go to the bathroom and when I wipe- bright red blood on the paper, but there was nothing in the toilet so I didn't think too much of it, but maybe a popped blood vessel or someting. Then I get p around 2 am to pee and the tooilet is once again filled with red blood! Since this is now the 3rd time this pregnancy I've had bleeding it definitely isnt as scary- I didn't even wake up Nick, I figured if it got worse then I would wake him up.

Come morning I had no more bleeding, just heavy spotting and a small clot came out, but I was pretty crampy. Good thing we didn't have too much planned that day so I put myself on bed rest and decided to call Dr Cueto Monday morning to see if I should go to work or not (since the stupid on-call Dr's are never much help and don't care if you're not their personal patient). I was bummed about missing out on the Goore's 20% off everything sale but then my mom reminded me there will be Labor day sales coming up! So I guess I can wait a couple more weeks to look for baby furniture.

Monday morning I call and left a message for Dr to call me back with what I should be doing. It takes about an hour and half but he calls me back and says this can still be a very serious problem and he definitely thinks I should not go to work- or do much of anything for that matter. I am still at risk for miscarriage but I think it's gotta be a good sign I'm not bleeding at this moment. We are hoping that was the last of the hemmorrage coming out on Sunday morning and since I already had an appointment scheduled for Thursday Dr Cueto will just do another ultrasound at that point to double check everything. As much as all this blows at least we get to see the baby again, I'll be just shy of 15 weeks on Thursday and I'm really hoping Dr can see the baby's goods so we can know what we're having! I'm sure that won't be possible since they say 16 weeks is the earliest you can see the gender but I'm being hopeful, I figure all that's gone on maybe the baby will work with us on this one!

Everyone keeps saying how this baby will be feisty, it's already giving us a run for our money, and causing us trouble but I'd like to blame all of this on the baby's home (aka: my uterus). I think our baby wants to be with us so bad that it keeps hanging on even when the odds seem to be against it. We are very hopeful that everything will turn out perfect, it's just getting to that point that seems to be a struggle at times. But like I've said before, there are a lot of people that have it a lot worse than we do so we are grateful for what we have and where we are right now! Here's to the next 6 months going smooth and baby growing big and healthy! ... well maybe not TOO big but a healthy 7lbs would be perfect :) I gotta push that baby out, ya know?!

Fun Summer Day

We are loving our lazy summer weekend days together! Just chillin in the pool, enjoying the summer heat!

Can I just say how much I love this girl!! I could just squeeze her all the time and smother her with kisses! She's so sweet and cute, I couldn't imagine my life without our beautiful daughter!

And how fun is it to splash Daddy... especially after he says to stop!! haha We wish our weekends could last forever!

Preschool Graduation

I can't believe I no longer have a preschooler! Our sweet, sweet girl is officially a big, bad Kindergardner! About a month ago they had a graduation ceremony at Hannah's school for all the kiddos moving onto elementary school in the fall. It was such a cute ceremony- they called each child's name and as they handed them their diploma they asked what they wanted to be when they grow up. Nick and I knew for sure our kiddo was going to say Doctor, she is always talking about how she is going to be a Dr when she grows up and can't wait to go to college and everything! haha! Well, we sure were surpised when they asked our girl what she wanted to be and she responded with "Repunzel!". Well of course, what 4 year old little princess wouldn't want to be Repunzel when she grows up?! I loved the answer and can't wait to see if her dream comes true or if she does continue on to be Dr like she normally says! :)
I love how she is trying to be so serious in this picture... she's normally such a goof ball so it cracks us up when she tries to be serious!

Getting a little bored listening to all the other students get their diploma so she rolled up her diploma and played it like a horn! I just love my kid so much!

Picture with her wonderful teachers Mr Travis and Ms Kendra. Hannah loved them and I'm so glad she was in their class!

Our BIG graduate!

What good graduation for preschoolers doesn't end with a cupcake?! It was such a great evening and we are so proud of our big girl starting kindergarten this fall!

Beach House... A month and a half ago!

Man, we have been so occupied with all things pregnancy and making sure everything is going well with that I haven't updated on our summer happenings at all! During the first week of June we went with the Jackson family to a beach house in Dillon's beach. We had such a great, relaxing time and we all wished it hadn't gone by so fast. The weather did not really cooperate, it pretty much down poured the entire time we were there but luckily it would clear up for a few hours so we could go play at the beach. But all the other time we played board games, pool and fooseball, chatted, hung out and the girls were so good at occupying eachother, we barely knew they were there! Here are some pitures from our awesome vaca:
This is minutes before Hannah totally biffed it running away from the freezing cold waves and she got completely soaked... less than 5 minutes after we arrived at the beach! Luckily Gina had an extra sweatshirt of Emma's she could wear to at least keep her body warm, and once we put that on her she was happy to dig in the sand and have fun again!

Even Lily loved the beach1

The girls incuded Lily in their play time, here she was visiting the Dr office making sure she was healthy!

Fun playing pool and fooseball in the basesment!

Again, Lily getting in on the action- she just couldn't miss a thing!!

Another day at the beach! We had so much fun!!

The beach house was seriously one of our favorite vacations yet, and it was even better to have friends join us! We hope to do this kind of vacation every year!!

12 weeks

Just a quick post to document what's been going on the last 2 weeks. Thankfully, the last 2 weeks have been quite uneventful, which is exactly what we want at this point! I'm still spotting, but not much, some days worse than others but as of yet nothing to worry about! Woo hoo! We couldn't be happier! I feel like we are definitely relaxing more and agan starting to enjoy the idea of our growing peanut! It's really hard to believe this time next year we will seriously have a baby around here, and not even a newborn anymore, a baby that squeals and laughs and can sit in a high chair at the table during dinner! It's such an exciting thought, I'm just SOOOOO excited!!

Now on to the happenings of this pregnancy so far...
First off the first belly picture, and of course big sister had to get in on the action and show how much she loves her brother or sister already:
It really doesn't look like much of a bump but in person I am starting to poke out just a little bit and I love it! Can't wait to actually wear some cute maternity clothes and have them fit. The bare belly pic below looks a little Pillsbury dough boy soft but thats ok it shows that our little sweet pea is getting bigger by the day!

Weight: I seem to fluctuate between 4 and 6 lbs, so I'm gonna go with 4lbs gained so far, and at the end of the first trimester I couldn't be happier with that number. At this point with Hannah I had probably gained over 10lbs already so 4 ain't too shabby. I'm just hoping it stays a slow and steady gain this time, cause that means less work after baby gets here. :)

Mood/Feelings: I'm feeling very happy and starting to relax a little bit as each day passes with nothing wrong happening. I love seeing the belly grow and I can't wait to start feeling the baby move. It should happen sooner this time, and I might even start to feel things in about 4 weeks! Woo!! I'm still so exhausted all the time and my nausea still comes and goes, but I think it's getting better. I had 1 day of energy last week that was pretty exciting but the next day back to utterly exahusted! haha After this week I will be in my 2nd trimester so I'm really hoping I get some energy back at that point.

Cravings: I'm still wanting fruit, cereal, and Mexican food is my main craving. But this time I will crave something and once I eat it then I don't really want it after that. With Hannah, I would crave something and eat it for a couple weeks before moving on to something else, but this time I really get over food easily and start to feel queasy more than last time. I was really wanting spinach dip, so I made a whole batch of it and had a hunk of bread with it and now I don't really want it anymore but I've got this whole bowl in the fridge so I've got to eat it! haha So if I crave something then I just know not to go buy it in bulk since it'll probably pass quickly.

Fun things this week: The best thing that happened this week was hearing the heart beat for the first time! At work one of the Dr's is going to be doing OB care so he got a doppler this week and was able to test it out on me, which was great since I haven't even heard the heart beat yet. We've seen it on the ultrasound a couple times but hearing it is something new and so wonderful! It is truly one of the best sounds in the world! I was kind of bummed Nick wasn't able to hear it, but he will at the appointments so it's ok, but for me being able to hear it really put me at ease once again.

So this didn't just start happening this week but since we first told Hannah about the baby she couldn't be more excited! She is absolutely sure it's going to be a girl and has named her Emily, which I think is hilarious that she doesn't care mommy and daddy name baby, she just calls her Emily all the time! (We are really thinking about using Emily as the middle name, we thougt it would be fun that she had a part in naming her sister, if it's a girl that is!) She is always wanting to hug and kiss my tummy, which is so sweet. Even though she really wants a sister she says she will still love a brother and wants to name him James, however she NEVER calls the baby James! :)

Names: For a girl we so far like the names Brynn and Lauren. For a boy we like Connor and Jacob. I'm definitely not able to settle on any name yet and am still throwing new names at Nick all the time, which he totally can't stand, he doesn't understand why if we like a name we can't just stick with that, but I don't want to miss out on a possibility so I'm constantly thinking of names. In just 8 short weeks we'll at least be able to narrow down the gender and go from there! So excited to find out what's growing inside me. So far I had a dream it was a boy and then a couple nights later a dream we had a girl, so I really have no idea. My gut is to say it's a boy, but that's what we thought when I was pregnant with Hannah and were shocked when they said it was a girl, so we'll see!

Will update soon!
